The Key Laboratory of Pathophysiology Technology Research of Zhejiang Province was approved to be constructed jointly by the Department of Science and Technology of Zhejiang Province, the Department of Finance of Zhejiang Province and the Development and Reform Commission of Zhejiang Province in August 2012. The Laboratory passed the inspection and acceptance organized by the Provincial Department of Science and Technology on July 29, 2015.

The major research directions of the Laboratory are: to explore the mechanisms of the occurrence, development and regression of major diseases such as diabetes, heavy metal pollution, autoimmune diseases, neuropsychiatric diseases, drug addiction, malignant tumors and cardiovascular diseases in a multi-level manner by applying pathophysiological techniques; to tanalyze the pathophysiological mechanisms of tumors, diabetes and cardiovascular diseases triggered by important environmental hazards based on genetic polymorphism and epigenetic techniques to study susceptibility genes and specific molecular markers of these diseases; to establish a technical system for disease susceptibility prediction, early intervention and personalized treatment, and to develop new early diagnosis methods and targeted therapeutic drugs.
