On July 28-31, the Thirteenth General Meeting and 2022 Annual Academic Conference of Zhejiang Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Society was held in Jiangshan, Quzhou. A delegation of over ten students and faculty members from the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology of the School of Medicine attended the conference.

The Thirteenth Council of Zhejiang Biochemical and Molecular Biology Society was elected at the event. Professor Gong Zhaohui of the School of Medicine was elected as Deputy Director, while Professor Guo Junming resigned from the position of Deputy Director and assumed the position of Supervisor of the Society.

Dr. Chen Pan, a young faculty member of our School, was awarded the Third Prize in the “Baocheng” Teaching Competition for his presentation of the lesson “Transcription Process of Prokaryotes”, which had been well prepared by him and well received by the professional judges. Furthermore, Graduate students Ge Yidong, Xie Yaoyao, Yu Xiuchong and Yu Zongdong presented their research results to the experts and teachers at the “Xinzhi” Young Scholars Forum and were awarded the finalists.

The event is an important academic platform for faculty and students of the School of Medicine to communicate with experts and experts in the field of biochemistry across the province. At the event, experts and scholars made in-depth discussions and exchanges on the latest research results of biochemistry and molecular biology technology in life science and human health. The event serves as a positive incentive to improve the research and instruction level of biochemistry and molecular biology in the School, as well as the training of excellent graduate students.
