Huang Canhua, professor of National Key Laboratory of Biotherapy, West China Hospital, Sichuan University. In 2000, Huang received the Ph.D. degree from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and later worked on postdoctoral research in the Department of Biology, National University of Singapore; in August 2003, Huang was employed by the National University Cancer Institute, Singapore (NCIS) as the research scientist. In September 2005, Huang returned to China as a professor of National Key Laboratory of Biotherapy, West China Hospital, Sichuan University; dean of West China School of Basic Medical Sciences & Forensic Medicine, Sichuan University (2017-2021). Winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars (2012); Principal Scientist of the project “Redox Proteome Research of Virus-induced Tumourgenesis”, National Major Scientific Research Program (973 Program) (2013-2017); leader of the Innovation Group Project of “Redox Signaling Regulation and Tumor Occurrence and Development” of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (2018); member of the 8th Discipline Appraisal Group of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council (Basic Medicine Group) (2020); Elsevier Most Cited Chinese Researcher (2020); first prize winner of Natural Science Award of Ministry of Education (2020); standing director of the Chinese Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and President of Sichuan Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology; CPPCC Member of Sichuan Province; expert member of Sichuan Non-Party Expert Database for Advice and Suggestions; expert member of Chengdu United Front “Think Tank”; Deputy Secretary-General of Western Returned Scholars Association in Chengdu; standing director of Chengdu Overseas Association; expert enjoying the special allowance of the State Council (2018).
After returning to China, Huang, as the corresponding author, published more than 90 papers in such international academic journals as Nat Microbiol, Nat Commun, Cell Rep, Gastroenterology, J Hepatol, Hepatology, EMBO Mol Med, Cancer Res, Autophagy, Oncogene, Cell Death Differ, and Mol Cell Proteomics. Huang was invited to publish a number of reviews on the frontiers of systems biology in such international academic journals as Trends Biochem Sci, Signal Transduct Target Ther, Semin Cancer Biol, Drug Resist Updat, J Hematol Oncol, Mass Spectrom Rev, Antioxid Redox Signal, Med ResRev, and Biochim Biophys Acta Rev Cancer. Huang served as the associate editor of the international academic journal MedComm, the consulting editor of Antioxidants, the executive editor of Anal Biochem, and the editor board member of Signal Transduct Target Ther, Proteomics and other journals.
