Wu Shaowei, professor of Xi’an Jiaotong University, director of the Department of Occupational and Environmental Health; Wu was selected into the National Overseas High-level Young Talent Program and Shaanxi Provincial Innovative Talent Long-Term Project. Wu mainly studies the influence of air pollution and other environmental factors on population health and related mechanisms, has presided over a number of government sponsored studies such as National Key Research and Development Program and National Natural Science Foundation of China, and has published more than 120 high-level papers in international authoritative journals such as Am J Psychiatry, JASN, J Clin Oncol, JNCI, LancetReg Health West Pac, Environ Health Perspect, and Environ Sci Technol, most of which are given editorial/commentary, or press releases by the publishing journals or selected as cover articles/Article of Impact; Wu was selected into the Stanford University’s list of the top 2% of the world’s leading scientists in 2020-2022 (and the top 2% of the world’s scientists in the influence of science in 2019-2021). Wu won the First Young Scientist Award of Chinese Society of Environmental Science in 2018 and NG Teng Fong/ Sino Scholarship for Outstanding Youth of Peking University. At present, Wu serves as the member of the Asia-Pacific Branch of the International Society for Environmental Epidemiology, the member of Professional Committee on Environmental health standards of the 8th National Health Standard Commission, and other social posts.
