Chinese Government Scholarship holders:

The Chinese Government Scholarship annual review for international students has started, please read through this notice.Annual Review refers to the comprehensive assessment system which the international students studying in China under Chinese Government Scholarship Programmes shall go through annually. It will decide whether they are qualified to continue enjoying or to renew the scholarship.

1.Participants

1) Students who continue to enjoy Chinese government scholarships after September 2020.

2) Graduate students and PhD students who originally planned to graduate in July 2020 but applied for extension and met the extension requirements.

3) Students who have failed to qualify for the scholarship or deduction of part of the scholarship in the last year's scholarship review.

4) Students just applied for returning to studying in this semester do not need to participate in this year's assessment.

2.Review contents

1)  Academic performance in the last two semesters.

2)  Learning attitude and attendance.

3)  Behavior performance, rewards and punishments.

3.Evaluation results and requirements

In accordance with the relevant regulations on the management of CSC and NBU, the institution will assess whether the students are qualified to continue enjoying or to renew the scholarship. And then put forward their results either qualified or unqualified, and proposals on whether to provide, suspend or terminate the scholarship.

According to the assessments and suggestions of the institutions, CSC will make the final decision whether to continuously provide, suspend or terminate the scholarship.

1) The scholarship will be suspended for one year if the students:

①failed 2 or more courses in one semester after the make-up test;

②violated school discipline and school rules, were given serious warning and above punishment.

The students whose scholarships are suspended, from the beginning of next academic year, will not enjoy the scholarships any more. However, they can apply to continue their studies as self-financed students .Before the period of suspension is over, those involved can apply to go through Annual Review of that year. If they pass the review and get the approval from CSC,they can renew their scholarship from the next academic year.

2) The scholarship will be terminated if the students:

①were ordered to withdraw from school or expelled from school;

②failed to pass the annual review twice during the school study;

③don’t participate in the annual review without persuasive reason.

Those who have their scholarship terminated will not enjoy the scholarships from the day of proclamation and cannot renew their scholarship any more.

4.Procedures

The students in China should download Chinese Government Scholarship Annual Review Form and fill in the form,then give the form and transcripts of the last two semesters to Suki.

Scholarship students who fail to graduate as scheduled and have to apply for extension of government scholarships are also required to submit the Extended CSC Scholarship Application Form.

5.Deadline

6.2020 CSC Extension Application

欲申请延长学习期限的国别奖学金生，须于4月底前向本国派遣部门（原申请受理部门）提出申请，列入2020/2021学年中国政府奖学金计划名额内。

For those students of bilateral programmes scholarship who wish to apply for extension,please submit your application to your dispatching organization before the end of April, so as to be included in the planning

for 2020/2021 academic year.

个别在校表现良好、学习成绩优异，因特殊原因不能按期完成学业且派遣国无法列入奖学金计划的博士研究生，可直接填写申请表，并交至学院。请注意：延期申请仅限一次，且最长不超过一年。申请中国政府奖学金期限延长，需首先到学院办理学籍延长手续。申请奖学金延长后仍需参加并通过奖学金年度评审，方有可能获得下一年度的奖学金。

The PhD students, with excellent behaviors,serious research attitude in school, and who cannot finish their programmes due to some special reasons can directly fill in Application Form of CSC Scholarship Extension and submit to faculty.

Notes: Students can apply for extension only ONCE and less than one year. Please go through the procedures of academic extension in faculty before applying for next year's scholarship. And it is still required to pass the scholarship annual review.
